MOVEMENT LABS

ImogenCO.EllyWelford-28.jpg

A series of focused, high-energy workshops exploring Imogen Reeve & Co.’s choreographic practice.

Movement Labs invite dancers into a shared space of experimentation — working with tightly structured improvisation and choreographic textures developed by the company over the past five years.

To take part:
Email producing@imogenreeve.com to book a place.
Spaces are limited and all labs are free.

What to expect

Each session begins with a rigorous, voice-led warm-up — somatic, energetic and relational — before moving into detailed choreographic textures.

These repeatable movement structures act as research tools, designed to:

  • expand movement range and quality

  • challenge habitual patterns

  • build clarity, adaptability and precision

You’ll move between structure and freedom — working collectively through witnessing, copying, drifting and flocking, as the space shifts between individual and shared experience.

The approach

Movement Labs are not about fixed outcomes.
They are about process, attention and possibility.

Participants are invited into a decentralised learning environment where:

  • hierarchies are softened

  • agency is shared

  • movement is continuously reshaped

This is a space for rigour, play and the emergence of new movement languages.
