Imogen offers one-to-one and project-based mentorship for artists working across choreography, performance, and interdisciplinary practice. With over five years of teaching experience on the MA programme at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, she has supported emerging and early-career artists in developing both their creative work and professional pathways.

Her mentoring combines choreographic and dramaturgical guidance with practical support in navigating the realities of working in the arts. This includes developing movement material, refining performance practices, and shaping artistic research, alongside advice on establishing a company, fundraising, producing, and touring.

Imogen’s approach is grounded in her commitment to feminist practice, collaborative processes, and sustaining artistic careers beyond formal training environments.

Testimonials

“Being part of this process has been an absolute gift. It has given me a much deeper understanding of professional company life and reinforced the kind of artist I hope to become. I particularly valued contributing creatively to the development of material and witnessing how research translated into a distinct movement language. The all female-identifying team created an incredibly supportive and inspiring environment for making feminist work.”

“It was such a pleasure to be part of the process and to see the work evolve over time. I felt really welcomed into the space and inspired by both the research and the creative environment. It has been exciting to experience a new way of working and to witness the development of the piece.”

“I first worked with Imogen during my degree, and she has continued to support my development by bringing me into her company’s work. Through this opportunity, I have gained valuable experience in production and marketing, and developed new skills that are already shaping my career in the arts.”

Maerin Miles

Maerin Miles is a performer and dance artist based in London. She is returning to Imogen Reeve and Co. as a choreographic mentee after joining us for the previous creation phase as an apprentice company dancer. As an apprentice, she enjoyed developing the company’s specific movement qualities and contributing to the generation of movement for Mother Computer. She is excited to continue developing her artistic and choreographic voice whilst working with pressing feminist themes and the company’s refined physicality.

Line Romulslie

Line is orignally from Trondheim and is currently studying her BA at Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Her choreographic work is shaped by themes of sexuality, nature, identity, expression and the ways we relate to one another. Throughout the project, Line will be working closely with the company, observing rehearsals while developing her own choreographic voice through mentorship and creative exchange. We're really looking forward to seeing the ideas, questions and perspectives she brings into the room, and where they'll take the work.
